Abia Ex-Governorship Candidate Reagan Ufomba Joins Labour Party

Reagan Ufomba, a former governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has formally left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the Labour Party (LP).

The defection was announced on Wednesday during a reception held at Okpuala Ngwa in Abia State, where Governor Alex Otti officially received Ufomba and his supporters into the party.

Governor Otti described Ufomba’s entry into the Labour Party as a significant boost not only for the party but also for the development of Abia State.

He also highlighted the Labour Party as one built on principles of equity, inclusiveness, and equal opportunity for all members. According to him, new entrants would be fully integrated without any form of discrimination from existing members.

“The interesting thing about Labour Party is that there is no discrimination. We don’t have old and new members,” Otti said.

The governor further commended Ufomba for his contributions to the progress of the state and acknowledged his support for the administration’s reform-driven agenda.

In his response, Ufomba pledged his commitment to the growth and development of Abia State under the platform of the Labour Party.

He expressed appreciation to Governor Otti and the party leadership in Abia State for warmly welcoming him into the party.
