Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has retained his Deputy Governor, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election.

The announcement was made during a Labour Party campaign rally held in Umuahia on Sunday, where the party also formally flagged off its campaign for Otti's re-election ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The rally brought together Labour Party supporters and members from different parts of the state, who gathered to demonstrate their support for the governor and his administration.

Otti's decision to retain Emetu signals the continuation of the current deputy governorship partnership as the governor seeks another term in office.
