The training, which took place between May 20 and 21, 2026, at the Police Officers’ Mess in Umuahia, was organised in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to build a modern, technology-driven and people-focused police force grounded in professionalism, accountability, and operational efficiency.

The event was attended by the Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, members of the Command’s management team, the training convener Pearl Ogulu, facilitators including S. A. S. Aruwa, other resource persons, and senior officers of the Command.

Participants included Divisional Police Officers, VCRU Sub-Commanders, Divisional Crime Officers, as well as representatives from the inspectorate cadre and rank-and-file personnel.

Speaking during the programme, Commissioner of Police Danladi Isa praised the Inspector-General of Police for prioritising the training and development of officers through modern investigative techniques aimed at improving policing and service delivery.

He encouraged participants to take the sessions seriously in order to gain practical knowledge that would strengthen crime investigation and detection across the state.

Several topics were covered during the training, including anti-money laundering, terrorist financing and collaboration with the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit, investigation of public sector fraud, discreet investigations, legal ethics and undercover operations, legal aspects of forensic investigation techniques, as well as cyber and digital forensics for police investigations.

According to the Command, the programme greatly improved the knowledge base and investigative competence of officers who participated in the exercise.

At the end of the training, the Commissioner of Police directed participants to apply the skills and knowledge acquired and also share the experience with personnel in their various divisions and formations.

He further urged officers to maintain professionalism and conduct themselves in a manner that would project a positive image of the Nigeria Police Force while carrying out their responsibilities.

The statement was signed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Maureen Chioma Chinaka, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command.
