CP Danladi Isa Strengthens Partnership With Homeland Security Watch in Abia

The Commissioner of Police in Abia State, Danladi Isa, has reiterated the commitment of the State Police Command to strengthening collaboration with credible security organisations as part of ongoing efforts to improve community policing and combat insecurity across the state.

CP Isa gave the assurance while receiving a delegation from the Abia State Homeland Security Watch at the State Police Headquarters in Umuahia.

The delegation was led by the Commander-General of the group, Nzenwa Stanley Major, who explained that the visit was aimed at deepening strategic partnership with the Police, enhancing intelligence sharing, and fostering operational cooperation in addressing security challenges within the state.

During the meeting, the Commander-General briefed the Police Commissioner on the structure and activities of the organisation and formally requested collaboration with the Police Command as the lead security agency in Abia State.

Responding, CP Isa welcomed the delegation and assured them of the Command’s readiness to support credible security initiatives and provide necessary assistance when needed.

He, however, advised the group to conduct proper internal monitoring to identify and address any form of unprofessional conduct among its members, stressing the importance of discipline, supervision, and accountability within the organisation.

The Police Commissioner further emphasized that all security operations must strictly comply with existing laws and uphold respect for human rights.

CP Isa also urged members of the Homeland Security Watch to maintain close cooperation with the Police by promptly handing over suspects and reporting incidents to the appropriate authorities for proper investigation and prosecution.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Abia State Police Command to building trust, strengthening partnerships, and promoting effective community-based policing across the state.
