The Commander of the 14 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Ohafia, Brigadier General Ahmad Mansur Dikko, and the new Commissioner of Police in Abia State, CP Wilfred Afolabi, have held a meeting aimed at strengthening security across communities in the state.

The meeting took place at the brigade headquarters in Ohafia during a familiarisation visit by the new Commissioner of Police.

Discussions centred on improving intelligence gathering and sharing among the Nigerian Army, the Police and other security agencies as part of efforts to enhance peace and security across Abia State.

Explaining the purpose of his visit, CP Afolabi briefed the Brigade Commander on his vision and priority areas for the Abia State Police Command, particularly in matters relating to peace and security.

He identified intelligence gathering and sharing, community safety outreach and increased police visibility as key strategies for tackling criminal activities across the state.

The police commissioner noted that stronger cooperation between the Police, the Nigerian Army and other relevant stakeholders would play a significant role in maintaining peace and improving security.

CP Afolabi also stressed the importance of community safety outreach, noting the need for the Police to maintain closer engagement with members of the public.

Responding, Brigadier General Dikko expressed his readiness to support initiatives aimed at strengthening security and promoting peaceful coexistence across Abia State.

He assured the Commissioner of Police of the brigade's continued support and cooperation, stressing that effective coordination among security agencies remains crucial to addressing security challenges and protecting lives and property.
