The Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has praised fathers across Nigeria, describing them as unsung heroes whose sacrifices, resilience and commitment remain vital to family stability and societal growth.

In a Father’s Day message issued in Abuja on Sunday, the lawmaker recognised the important role played by fathers and father figures in raising children, supporting families and building stronger communities.

Father’s Day is observed globally to celebrate fathers and acknowledge their contributions to nurturing families, shaping values and influencing future generations. The occasion also highlights the importance of responsible fatherhood and its impact on social development.

Reflecting on the economic difficulties facing many Nigerian families, Natasha said fathers continue to serve as providers, protectors, mentors and sources of direction despite the challenges they encounter.

“On this special Father’s Day, I celebrate all fathers and father figures whose steadfast commitment, love, and sacrifices continue to strengthen our families and communities.

“Fathers are truly the unsung heroes of our society. Their tireless efforts, resilience, and devotion deserve our deepest appreciation,” she said.

The senator stressed that responsible fatherhood plays a significant role in nation-building, noting that the values, discipline and lessons fathers pass on to their children help shape future generations.

She described fathers as role models whose influence goes beyond their immediate families, contributing to the moral foundation and development of society.
