Labour Party leaders in Nsulu, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area of Abia State, have renewed their unwavering support for Governor Alex Otti while establishing three strategic committees to reinforce the party's structure in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

The resolutions were contained in a communiqué issued on Monday following a strategic meeting chaired by the stakeholders' chairman and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, after extensive deliberations.

During the meeting, the stakeholders applauded Governor Otti for what they described as the significant transformation taking place across Abia State. They particularly highlighted key projects in Nsulu, including the Abia International Airport, the Umuomaiukwu Smart School, and several ongoing road infrastructure projects.

The forum unanimously agreed to strengthen unity within the Labour Party in Nsulu, stressing that every member, regardless of when they joined the party, should enjoy equal status, mutual respect, inclusiveness, and equal opportunities to contribute to the party's growth.

The communiqué, jointly signed by Pastor Caleb Ajagba and the Joint Acting Secretaries, Dr. Chibuzo Emeruwa and Dr. Enyichukwu Olumba, stated that the stakeholders resolved to intensify grassroots sensitisation and mobilisation across Nsulu communities to effectively communicate the achievements of the current administration and consolidate support for the Labour Party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The communiqué further stated: "We reaffirmed our commitment to supporting all candidates of the Labour Party at every level of the forthcoming elections, recognising that the success of the party depends on collective responsibility, unity of purpose and coordinated action.

"We welcome the assurance by the Chief of Staff that compensation for individuals affected by the Abia Airport land acquisition has been approved by the state government. We are confident that all eligible beneficiaries will receive their entitlements accordingly.

"We also commend the ongoing efforts of the government to resolve the electricity challenges in Nsulu nation, particularly in Umunna Nsulu, and remain optimistic that work will commence in the near future.

"We encourage eligible indigenes of Nsulu to take advantage of the various empowerment and capacity-building programmes of the Abia State Government, including TECHRISE, the Abia Leadership Academy, the Abia Smart School Initiative, and other youth development programmes."

To ensure the effective implementation of the resolutions reached at the meeting, the stakeholders approved the establishment of three strategic committees: the Empowerment Committee, the Voter Education and Sensitisation Committee, and the Mobilisation Committee.

The Empowerment Committee was assigned the responsibility of identifying, profiling, and coordinating eligible beneficiaries for government empowerment initiatives, entrepreneurship schemes, employment opportunities, and capacity-building programmes.

The Voter Education and Sensitisation Committee will focus on educating eligible voters about the importance of Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection, civic participation, and the achievements of the Labour Party-led administration.

Meanwhile, the Mobilisation Committee was mandated to strengthen the party's grassroots structures, promote reconciliation among members where necessary, coordinate stakeholder engagement, and mobilise support for all Labour Party candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The stakeholders also appealed to the government to fast-track the execution of ongoing and proposed infrastructure projects in Nsulu, especially strategic road projects and other critical public infrastructure expected to drive socio-economic development in the area.

They further urged Labour Party members and supporters to conduct themselves with maturity, civility, and political decorum throughout the election period by embracing issue-based campaigns, peaceful coexistence, and responsible democratic participation.

The forum concluded by expressing appreciation to Pastor Caleb Ajagba for what it described as his purposeful leadership and dedication to the development of Nsulu, reaffirming its collective commitment to unity, good governance, and the strengthening of democratic participation.
