Samuel Chukwueze Mourns Mother as Otti Pays Tribute to Her Life of Service

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has paid tribute to the late Prophetess Serah Chinyere Chukwueze, describing her as the “Dorcas of our time” whose life was marked by faith, compassion, and selfless service to humanity.

The governor, represented by his deputy, Ikechukwu Emetu, spoke during the funeral service held on May 29, 2026, at Isieke Secondary School, Isieke Ibeku, in Umuahia North Local Government Area.

Otti said the late prophetess, who passed away on January 29, 2026, lived a life devoted to God and the service of others. He noted that her contributions as a healthcare professional, philanthropist, spiritual leader, wife, and mother left a lasting impact on her family, church, and the wider Abia community.

The governor described her as a woman of exceptional humility, strength, and compassion whose legacy would continue to inspire future generations. He also highlighted her years of service in the Abia health sector and her spiritual ministry, through which many people found healing, encouragement, and hope.

Drawing parallels with the biblical Dorcas, known for her charitable works, Otti said Prophetess Chukwueze’s numerous acts of kindness and empowerment initiatives made her a source of hope for the less privileged and vulnerable members of society.

Delivering the sermon, Precious Uchenna urged Christians to live purposeful lives, stressing that the true value of life is measured by its impact rather than its duration.

“Life is not about duration but donation,” he said, encouraging believers to embrace generosity, service, and unwavering faith.

He described the late prophetess as a committed Christian whose life reflected genuine love, kindness, and dedication to God’s work, leaving behind a legacy worthy of emulation.

In an emotional tribute, Samuel Chukwueze remembered his mother as loving, caring, and deeply supportive. He expressed gratitude for her prayers, guidance, and sacrifices, which he said played a crucial role in shaping both his life and football career.

The football star also thanked friends, relatives, and well-wishers for their support throughout the mourning period.

Family members, friends, and associates paid glowing tributes to the late prophetess, praising her integrity, humility, unwavering faith, and commitment to helping others.

The funeral attracted a large gathering of dignitaries, including Anthony Chinasa, former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly Chinedum Orji, Chukwudi Apugo, members of the clergy, traditional rulers, and other distinguished guests.

Though her passing has left a profound void, Prophetess Serah Chinyere Chukwueze’s legacy of faith, charity, and dedicated service continues to resonate, inspiring countless lives across Abia State and beyond.
