President Bola Tinubu is meeting with Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Adeleke arrived at the Villa at about 5:25pm on Thursday, dressed in a navy blue traditional outfit and carrying a walking stick.

The governor arrived in a black Toyota Land Cruiser SUV alongside the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

The meeting marks Adeleke’s first known engagement with President Tinubu since he secured re-election in last Saturday’s Osun State governorship election.

Tinubu had earlier congratulated Adeleke on his victory in a telephone call, describing the outcome as “a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our country.”

The President also urged the governor to unite residents of the state irrespective of their political affiliations or choices during the election.

Four other officials from Osun State were also seen arriving at the Presidential Villa shortly after Adeleke.

They included the Director-General of the Adeleke Campaign Council, Senator Lere Oyewumi; a member of the council, Sunday Bisi; the Osun State Governor’s Chief of Staff, Akinleye Kazeem; and the member of the House of Representatives representing Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency, Bamidele Salam.

The purpose and details of the closed-door meeting had not been made public as of the time of filing this report.
